The distictive feature of the Dicranurus Monstrosus Trilobite, is a pair of large curled horns (occipital spines). These horns, along with various long spines, were likely defensive adaptations to deter predators like early fish (placoderms)
Origin • in the limestone deposits of the Anti-Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
This species dates back from the lower - middle Devonian Period, estimated 380-400 million years ago!
