The Aletai meteorite is a massive nickel-iron meteorite shower first discovered in 1898 in the Xinjiang region of northwest China, the total known mass is estimated between 74 and 100 tons. Its largest piece, the Armanty mass, weighs 28 tons and is the fifth-largest single meteorite found on Earth.
